    My new snubby

I just got this today. I saw it yesterday and had to have it. S&W Model 15-4 .38 special with 2" bbl. Serial number puts the manufacture date at 1981.I have a 15-3 with a 4" bbl which I consider to be the single best gun I own. Now it has a baby sister.

Hello, sir. Well, you have a very nice K-frame snub there and one that is quite sought after today. I think you will be most pleasantly surprised with the accuracy that it is capable of.

    Best.

+1. I'd bet cash money that that revolver is capable of far more accuracy than I could shoot. Congratulations on a fine acquisition, one which will only become more and more in demand as the years pass. Don't you dare ever let it go!

I love Model 15s. My 15-4 was the best shooting revolver I have shot.

That is a very nice gun. However, I've never understood why they made the model 15 snubbies with square butts. It sort of defeats the purpose if you want to conceal it which is the point with the snubby. In contrast the other k frame snubbies, the model 10, 64, 19 and the model 66 all came with round butts.

Anyone know why S&W made the 2" barrel model 15's with
    square butts?
