    Birthday Gift To myself. (pics)

Hi I recently picked up a Para Slim Hawg. Really like it, my first 1911. I have been carrying my glock g36 but it may be put to the side when I find a nice holster for this lil Para. It weighs a bit more than the glock but is less in every other dimension (grip lenghts may be equal). Hadnt had a chance to go to the range but will next week more than likely. So range report to follow. At first I was looking for custom grips for it, had trouble finding some. I was told that grips made for the Para Carry 6.45 would fit. After recieving the gun though I have to admit I like the factory wood grips. Anyway a few pictures.

Happy birthday! Bet you're going to like that Para....

Thank yall, If it shoots half as good as it looks I will be exstatic. Im used to my glocks so single action will be different.

Anyone know where to find custom grips for it or the Para Carry?

Excellent! That should be an ideal CCW, with the slim profile.

Congrats on the mighty fine birthday gift! I have a Slim Hawg as well and had been using it for EDC. It's currently at Para getting a new slide which cracked completely through right under the ejection port. Para is taking care of it with no cost to me. Kudos to their customer service.

I definitely like the Slim Hawg. As the name implies, it is slim and disappears nicely for concealed carry. The only thing that could make it better was if it was offered in 9mm, but that's just me.

    Very concealable gun...

I see that it has the slim grips which make for good concealment. The thumb safety sticks out quite a ways, as shown in the photo from the back. If it were mine, I would replace that with an old fashioned Colt safety with short lever to make the gun thinner and prevent an accidental release of the safety.
