    38 spl +P ammo

    I'm getting an S&W mdl 10 2" barrel which dates to 1961,1962.I already have some Federal 158grLSWHP +P,can anyone tell me if there is any more modern ammo that would be better for the mdl 10

    I would e-mail S&W and ask what the gun's rated for and go from there.

    The weapon is likely to be "rated" for standard pressure ammo. However, an non-steady diet of +Ps will prob not cause it harm. For me I carry Federal 158gr +Ps but I only shot it for qualifications.

    You might be ok with some +P on occasion but for a steady diet I'd avoid the +P. Here's a large selection of what's available from one site.

    Buy yourself a CASE of good quality wadcutters , and save the +Ps
    for Social purposes.

    Speer makes a Gold Dot Short Barrel ammo line especially for snubbies to allow proper expansion at lower velocities.
