Don't feel shortchanged because you don't have access to .357 ammo right now. Given the recent developments in .38 spl. ammo, your wife will be adequately armed...without the extra muzzle blast/recoil of
.357's in the snubbie.

Check out Coronado Leather for purpose built gun purses and backpacks
Also Lenny Magill has some great stuff including a large selection of Coronado's products, but much cheaper.
Also, Magills is THE BEST SOURCE for gun videos. I have probably gotten 25 + of the video's he offers.

Congrats. My wife is not into firearms, unfortunately.

It is better to have your gun and not need it, than to need it and not have it!
You cannot choose the conditions for a gunfight, so train in all conditions!

Good job, I just introduced my wife to the G17 at a gun shop yesterday, she was surprised how light it was, I have planted the seed, now to tend it to fruition....

Terrific! I know how you feel. I just got my wife to go gun-shopping for her first pistol today. She really liked the M&P 9mm with the small palm swell. I'll have her at the range tomorrow to try it out. Not sure how she will carry it at this point. One step at a time!

Let her pack a picnic lunch and go with you to a range. Make a day of it. Let her watch. Don't try forcing her, but let her know if she wishes to try...you will support that. If she doesn't wish to...let her know you support that too. The wrong thing many people do is try forcing the issue, not saying that you would. Maybe a relaxed, enjoyable time together will peak her interest. It may take a few times, but she will feel like she is part of it whether she shoots or not. Remember, some people just don't warm to it, but given a relaxed oppurtunity...maybe she will. At least it will take some of the mystery out of it for her and make her feel like she is part of something you enjoy, even if she doesn't shoot. She may surprise you. Good luck.
