S&W 1006 and 1076
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with either of these. I'm thinking about picking one, or both, of these in time and would like to know opinions or which if either is better. I know the length is different, but is one more dependable than the other, etc.
Thank You

Thank you artz. I jumped the gun and went ahead and put a down payment on the 1076 and I hope to get the 1006 next. Both of these are da/sa with decocker.

I'm reloading 10mm, I have a DW cbob, and I think the 10mm is a great caliber. I'm looking foreard to shooting the S&W, but it will be a little while yet.

I have an adjustable sighted 1006 and a 1066. Outstanding guns. Firing accurate, controlled pairs with even "real" 10mm ammo, i.e., any by Double Tap Ammo, is a breeze.
They are very sturdy, well made, and reliable guns. Perhaps the best Third Generation S&W semi-autos made.
My next S&W will be a 1076 since the others in the line, the 1086, 1046 (especially that one!), and the 1026 are less common since less were made.

Thanks srfl, good to know. The guy that's running the place where I'm getting it says they can't sell a 10mm at all. They have these two, which I hope to own both, and a new ea witness.

S&W 10mm
The best large frame 10mm that you can purchase, just change out the springs often and shoot the hell out of it.

Yes, I do have the S&W 1066 that Artz mentioned. And yes, Arthur, it does have a good home. Most of the time it is on my hip. When I first bought it I entitled the thread about it "This is NOT a Concealed Carry Gun" because of the size. After I got my K&D Lerado Defender for it I started carrying it and only once since have I carried anything else.
My wife and I were out shooting late this afternoon and one of the things we both shot was the 1066. Great pistol. Accurate and easy to shoot. Here are a couple of threads about my wife shooting the 1066.

Thanks for the links Dr., and those of your wife shooting are great. I saw your thread "this is not a carry gun" when I searched, but missed the other two you linked to. I'll check out the holster you mention as I plan on carrying the 1076. Don't know if it will take the place of the dw cbob, but we'll see.
