Very nice finds! I've always loved snub-nosed revolvers. I think it goes back to watching old detective movies. And, of course, Robert B. Parker's "Spenser" typically carries a 5-shot S&W.

I'll be glad when our monthly gun show starts up again.

Sounds like there were lots of good finds. A friend of mine missed (just barely) a new Rem 870 Police Magnum, black/synthetic stock, for $200.

I'm going to start adding them to my calendar, hopefully make a few.

Hello. Yesterday I was able to shoot the Model 65 a bit but not a lot. I fired only at 15 yards and only with two 357 Magnum loads: S&B 158-gr. JFP and Corbon's mid-power 125-gr. DPX. I will have to do more shooting to be sure, but it appears that at 15 yards, my revolver hits approximately 1 1/2 to 2" high with the S&B and dead-on (POA = POI) with the DPX. Hopefully, I can get out with a bit wider variety of ammunition and some handloads and do a meaningful evaluation, but so far, so good.


With this load, this Model 65 hit the 2" bullseye with a dead-on hold. With the heavier 158-gr from S&B, it would require a 6 O' Clock hold. Both seemed to group in the 2" range fired DA, standing and using a two-hand hold.

No problems cropped up and it appears that the revolver will probably be satisfactory, but I only shot 50 rnds of the S&B and 12 rounds of the DPX.

I have a 4 and 6 inch barrelled Model 29 Smith. Recessed with a pin barrell. Guess I should keep them? Took one bear hunting with me in Montana as a back up to my 7 MM Mag.

See now Chris, she just asked me last week if we were goin to meet you again at the show this year. I think she'll start talking to me again next week after I told her we didnt go to the show this year, we actually went up the weekend before it, LOL. Ohhh she was ticked. Bet we dont miss it next year. Oh she went rock climbing last week after her jiu-jitsu match. This girl is gonna kill me......Oh did I mention she fell in love with my Novak HP? Dang girl wont let me shoot it at the range anymore, she hogs it all the time. What is a Dad supposed to do?
