Crimson Trace for Glock 30
Hey all,
Wondering if anyone has tried the CT laser for a sub compact Glock, specificly a Glock 30. I am concerned with how well they are attached and if there is any issues with a less than perfect fit or if they are uncomfortable, increase grip size signifantly, or any other issues.
Before I spend $250+ I would appreciate all of your opinions. Also this gun will be used for CC in a really hot climate (Vegas) so printing is a concern. It will also be used for a nightstand gun, but I can attach a light laser on the tac rail as its a gen4.
-Thanks

ziondog,
I have a Crimson Trace on my Glock 23 and it is a mix of both good and bad.
Mounts easily, works like a charm.
Drawbacks are that if you put your 'trigger finger' along the frame as trained, your finger will block the laser. Also, holsters that have a thumb snap are not a good mix with the Crimson Trace as the laser sits right where the leather for most thumb snaps goes across the back of the gun. That makes the snap useless by at least a quarter of an inch.
Most of my holsters have thumb snaps so I am thinking seriously about taking my Crimson Trace off and selling it.

Try checking ebay out for a better deal ($150-170). You may want to check out your finger's placement / reach on the trigger after you install them - I got small hands, so it took some adjusting on my part.
Product is solid; however, you will have to adjust your hand placement on the slide when performing inmediate / remedial action for stopages / malfunctions (laser diode gets on the way of your fingers).
Do a search on the subject as there was a recent thread on the G30CTC.

Thanks!
DaveT, you answered all my questions! I was worried about the finger blocking the laser issue as I had decided not to get one on my S&W snubby for that same reason.
Also, the holster issue is very important to me also. I am sure that I could find a holster with adj strap or alternative retention method but something I would not have thought of if you wouldn't have mentioned it. Anyone else have any oter issues?
Once again the members of Combat Carry have come through with knowledgeable first hand knowledge. -Thanks!
