    My girlfriends present!

I picked this up for my girlfriend today. It is exactly what she wanted, as my larger caliber handguns hurt her wrist. I HAD to go try it out today, and it is a great shooter, no malfunctions at all. I guess I better clean it before I give it to her.

What ammunition were you using? My brother-in-law has one that is a little picky when using CCI.

so you can't set your phaser to "stun" then, only "kill" or it will malfunction.

    I better go tell Scotty.

Just regular ole' Federal High velocity 40 gr. rounds. I've had problems with CCI in a rifle a few years back, haven't bought any since.

If you really wanna make her happy, get one of these for it.

That was my girlfriend's first gun as well and it was a perfect choice for her. It fits her small hands, has no recoil, looks and functions like a combat pistol, and is inexpensive to shoot. She had shot my dad's Ruger Single Six but liked the semi-autos better than the revolvers. She hated the look and feel of the Ruger .22LR semi-autos, and liked shooting the P22 when we rented it at the range. I'm working on getting her to be comfortable with my P226 since there is hardly any recoil when shooting 9mm.

I've liked that pistol since the first moment I laid eyes on it.
If I didn't already own a few ultra high quality great shootin' .22s I'd buy one.
For self~defense see if a good match grade ammo will function in it.
    Try ELEY Tenex Ultimate EPS.
It never duds out AKA fails to detonate in any pistol with a decent FP strike.

I'm now on ammo box 7? - successfully using the Walmart bulk Remington Golden Bullets.

I had trouble immediately using Winchesters, and only so-so luck on the Federals. Total rounds at about 3200. Enjoy.

The P22 is a pretty nice little pistol. I got the kit that had both barrels, although I pretty much always shoot it with the shorter barrel. The suppressor would be an excellent addition.

I have a P22 and do enjoy shooting it a bunch. My wife and kids love it as well. Some of the earlier versions had issues, like slipping safety bars and such, but mine is one of the newer ones and I've never had any problems.

For the record, there is a great group of folks that discuss this gun and how to keep it working well over in the Walther Forum at RimFireCentral. Check it out. Lots of good folks over there that know a lot about this gun.

It is fun to shoot, although not a real target gun. When I decided to start shooting in a .22 pistol league, I got myself a Browning Buckmark to add to the collection.

    wifes first gun

I also bought this gun for my wife. If I could only get her to carry it.
She has a Mass LTC all lawful purposes. And she is a very good shot
