    1911 in 9mm?

Aside from the Springfield compact 1911, does anyone know of a manufacturer that makes one in 9mm? Along the same lines, are the Kahr pistols (P-9, CW-9, etc.) as slim as 1911's? Thanks in advance, HOLYROLLER.

    Kimber makes 9mm 1911s

Kahr is a little slimmer than a 1911.

Browning has 9mm 1911s...They are great guns too.

A friend of mine had a Browning Hi Power 9mm, it was a great pistol.

Browning makes a 1911? Never knew that. I know the Springfield EMP has a very high reputation, but if I carry a single action 9mm its my Browning HP.

I was under the impression that the Browning HP was a 1911...or am I mistaking?

Nope, it's not a 1911. The Highpower is affectionately known as "John Browning's other pistol." The best resource I know of for info on the HP (as well as other weapons) is Stephen Camp's site: http://www.hipowersandhandguns.com/ . I highly recommend giving it a look, everything from HPs to Makarovs and .38 snubbies gets coverage.

Thats a great list. I would add the STI LS- which is the closest size to the compact Kahrs. Steer clear of used LS because earlier guns had problems, but the new generations are solid.

I have a Springfield EMP and love it. (I know you said other than Springfield.)

If I had to choose one and only one 9mm, it would hands down be a Browning HP. The EMP is also an awsome weapon from what I hear and I really trust my Kahrs, but hands down the best I have is my Novak HP.

Not exactly a true "1911" but it looks and acts like one-
Star BM 9mm. Good gun for the money.

I was thinking mainly of the "slim" factor. It was made clear to me today (80 deg/shorts) that I may need something slimmer than my XDsc9 for summer carry. I passed on a Browning Hi-power MarkIII recently for $400! Shoulda, Coulda.

I vote for the EMP.. the smallest 1911 on the market (at least THEY say it is and "THEY" talk a lot) and in 9mm.

    Springfield that is.

I can't tell you how many people I've asked about the EMP only to hear them say, "The E-M-what? What the heck is that?"
