I've said it before, I'll say it again...
Of all of the guns I've bought and sold over the last few decades, my Colt Lightweight Commander is the one I most wish I had kept!
lol! Yep, I beat myself up regularly about doing that sort of thing. Two that I shoulda kept were a really cherry Python and and old Browning .20 gauge. Oh well.
As for LTW Commanders, I just cannot find anything - at all - that is a more perfect carry pistol for me. Mine is a 70 Series manufactured, oh, I think around 1978, which I think (?) would technically make its designation a Colt Commander with an aluminum frame" I am building a 5" all-steel Caspain right now, and then I am going to tackle building a Frankenstein (or, for you Mel Brooks fans, wouldn't that be "Fronkensteen"?) from a Kimber stainless receiver and an NIB Colt receiver from the last original run of the Series 70s. When those are done, I am going to finally break down and do the Commander. Right now, it's stock. When I'm through, it will still appear to be largely so.
Anyway, enough rambling. Just wanted to say, I LOVE my lightweight commander. Love it, love it, love it!
