I watched that with my kids about a month ago- It's a hoot. I'd have to have a really desperate perilous situation to pull the trigger on that gun.

"This is going to hurt me as much as it hurts you." may be almost right here.

I've always wondered whether the person running the camera had on a bullet-proof vest, titanium undies, a kevlar helmet, etc.

    .577 Tyrannosaur, or similar. Grrr.

Think it would do any good? Maybe if he was filming from behind a water buffalo, and then had the vest on...

I think I would be scared to shoot that gun.

Not really. I'm hoping the person behind the camera was also behind 2" of Lexan certified bullet-proof glass, though it wouldn't surprise me if the camera person was simply waltzing around in that room along with the other bystanders. Bad juju, that.

I wouldn't want to risk permanent nerve damage in my arm/shoulder by shooting it for no other reason that to say I shot it!

Now if I had an angry Bull Elephant charging me on the African continent, that might be different!

Last year I shot my brother-in-law's .300 Weatherby Magnum rifle and that was more than enough for me, at least without a muzzle brake. After 2 shots I could hardly lift my arm to release the bolt. I'm not saying it was just due to the recoil of the rifle (I've fired maybe 15 shots from a rifle and might not have had it positioned properly) but I do know that I would not voluntarily subject myself to shooting it on a regular basis. I can tell you this, I'd pass on shooting the rifle in the video after seeing what happened with more experienced shooters.

I'm glad I don't go on African safaris. Looks like a good way to break a collarbone.
