    Para P14-40

Here's a Para that I found on one of my Saturday treasure hunts. The rear sights were loose in the slot which did not worry me too much as they were going to get changed anyway. I had it in the safe for awhile then we made the journey to Gander Mnt. where I left it in the capable of the smiths there. I had to return to work for several months and when I got home I went to pick it up. I have to say as usual they did a top notch job on it. But one problem remained, it came with only one mag. so it went back to the safe for another few months while I returned to work once again. After contacting Para and ordering a spare mag. This is one nice lil carry piece. By the way out the door $450.00 , $300.00 for sights, and $60.00 for mag. with shipping.

I'm pretty sure the 300 included sights and installation.

The older Paras, had the standard sights, the Novaks would definitely require the dovetails to be cut...

I got to thinking about that one also, I was mistaken, I was thinking of another pistol that I had some mods done to it. The sights run around $125.00 and it wasn't a lot for the smith work. I have to go check back in some of my records for the correct amount.

That was the case here. But as stated I had another in there as I picked that one up.

Ahhh, OK I know Heinie charges around $300 for sights and install with shipping included IIRC.

My P-12 hasn't been shot in a while (2 years?)... I'm gonna have to get that out and give her some blasting so she doesn't start feeling neglected.

    They do build nice guns.

Yours is very sweeeettt! Looks pristine!

Why is it that you always find things at the last place you looked?

They require the slide to be milled and dovetails cut to get the low profile one on it.

As much as I like my WartHawg, I like the feel of this one a little more and that's saying something. The WartHawg is a handy little carry piece and I have had zoro problems so far with it.

I think the P14-40 would be the perfect double stack Para to convert to 10mm for carry [insert evil laugh here]

Hmmmm. Would the magazine tube be large enough to do a conversion like that?

Unless you just wanted a smaller 10mm in a 1911 style platform why wouldn't you just buy a Glock 29?

What really works well with the .40S&W is dropping in a .357sig. barrell then you are all set. The .45acp I don't think would be problem converting into a 10mm though.

Yeah, the problem is finding .357 sig barrels for a 1911 :(

I've been thinking about having the barrel on my Kimber .40 reamed out for 10mm.

10 40 and 357 use same breechface you cant convert 45 to 10mm with out a slide

357 barrels are not a big problem to find for 1911
