Exactly my problem. I'll be paying off a G19 at the end of the month (hopefully), it's lighter weight, higher capacity, fits me great ... and it's half the cost - so, other than being a 1911, what would I really be gaining for my $1100 and how do I justify it? As much as I'd like to have one, that's an awful lot of scratch for a gun that somewhat duplicates what I'd use the Glock for.

It's the same concept as why should you buy a Tag-Heuer when something like a Casio G-Shock will tell you the time just as well.
Both are fine watches - but they are made differently for different folk.

I too have the EMP. In fact I brought it to try out with Brownie. It held up to our rapid shooting just fine. I have had mine about 6 months and had little to no problems. I had some feeding problems with hollow point ammo in the beginning, but after polishing the feed ramp- no more problems.

It's a cool little gun. Expensive but I think it was worth it.

One of the nicest 9mm's I've seen. No doubt I'm prejudiced it's also a 1911.

    lunde,

    Nice grips and piece sir.

    DirtDawg,

Yes, it's built from the ground up on the 1911 design and it's dimentions work perfectly with the 9mm cartridge as you mention, no wasted space from converting this one from a 45 platform. You're welcome for the review. Glad you found value in it as well as others.

    kylebce,

Any firearm that can hold it's weight for rds count in the class without issues certainly has my attention as well. They run very well when they are broken in and yours ran that way while you used it in the course.

Where do you get those grips?

so after almost decided to get the xd9sc i started to look closer at the EMP & springfield aegis. They cost 2x as much but i think it may be worth it. It seems people here like the EMP quite a bit more but im not sure why. it seems like its a hit or miss with getting a good one, and although there customer service sounds great, id rather not have to send it in in the first place! I was wondering if anyone has experience with the kimber aegis. are they a little more reliable out of the box? and how is their customer service compared to SA? Finally, why choose the EMP over the Aegis? As far as I can tell there is very little difference.
