I checked on one last Monday. In the $800 neighborhood and my dealer has two on backorder. My only experience was with the hi-cap model several years ago, I don't think those are being produced anymore though. The hi-cap had some short comings in that the rubber grip panels were wafer thin and absolutley NOBODY made aftermarket replacements. After a bit less than 500 rounds, the grips on mine were curling at the edges. Also, due to the low slide mass and tight tolerances, the only way I could ensure reliable cycling was to use a lighter recoil spring and hot +P ammo. That cured the feed issues but it's not an ideal situation if you want to avoid battering the frame over time.
My old hi-cap is long gone now, traded for some other handgun I've forgotten about. I generally don't trust sub-4" 1911s, especially as carry weapons, but the SA Ultra Compact in 6 round config. is still sorta tempting ... it'd just require a few hundred rounds before I'd trust my life to carrying it.
