Rossi R462 Snub (357 Mag SS) - Need Spring
I've got a Rossi 357 stainless snub. Its a tough little chunk of steel, but the DA trigger pull is sorta like breaking loose a lug nut.
Has anyone swapped out a main spring on one of these?
How? What spring? Inquiring minds want to know.

Is the hammer spring a coil spring or a leaf type spring on your Rossi?

I have one of those Rossis, too. Simply polishing up the internals will smooth up the trigger pull significantly. I paid a smith about $40 to go over mine and it did help, maybe not like a new gun but better. As I recall he said it didn't really need replacement springs.

Ive got a Rossi 351 38 Special. The trigger pull was awfull on it. I paid $45.00 to have the trigger polished and it is waaay better. The single action is very touchy tho..

Do a check and see if a hammer spring for the Taurus will not work. Send a e-mail or call Wolff.

If it's like mine, it is a coil spring.

Yes, its a coil spring. Its not so much that its a heavy pull, but its a heavy pull with a jerky action.
If I have to, I can live with the trigger pull, but its the inconsistency of the pull that's maddening.
I like the gun, because its built like a tank, and like many revolvers, its pretty accurate.

Things sounds as if they could use a little buffing. I bet you'll find that there are a few rough pieces contacting in the action. Where are you located? If you are close to N. Little Rock, almost across from McCain Mall, Gander Mnt. has two excellent smiths and for something of this nature it would not cost a arm and a leg for them to take care of.

I'm down near Bryant and I shoot at the Benton Gun Club.
I worship at the church of Gander Mountain regularly. Fort Thompson is pretty cool too. I'll talk to the smiths at GM and see what they say.
Thanks - Gary

I lived in Benton until I was 8 years old. I have family there now. Hill, and Chism -- My cousin just opened a barber shop in downtown Benton close to the old part of town.

I moved to the Razorback state two years ago, so I don't know too many Benton folks yet. I hope to meet em someday.

Check out the "new" barber shop down town close to the city square with all the deer heads and go get a hair cut and tell Clint that Philip sent you. He's getting his CCW soon.

If I had any hair left, I'd be inclined to do so. Instead, I'll just stop by and say hello.
