Are soldiers actually allowed to bring their own sidearm with them into war? I'm surprised if that's the case. Does anyone know if this is the case, or did I just misread his post?

Great price, you did good. The G19 was my first Glock, I'll never get rid of it.

    Lots of luck with it.

It is better to have your gun and not need it, than to need it and not have it!

    Interesting question.

I took it down and checked it out. You would think it was new by looking at the inside of the slide and rails. Just a very little holster wear at the top edges of the outside of the slide. Very little wear on the outside of the barrel.

Just a quick update. I rumaged through the holster box that everyone has and pulled out a Don Hume summer special style holster. While this is not my favorite type of holster as it rides higher than I like and carries less cant than I prefer. As I wear it some I am getting a bit more used to it and I can truly say that this will make a very nice carry pistol. I can only imagine how nice and light it will feel when I get in the holsters that are on order for it and the other "poly" pistols.
