    Second Range Report, Browning Hi-Power

Took my wife's BHP 9mm to the range today, after my gunsmith worked over the trigger & removed the magazine safety. The result was a much improved and smoother trigger pull, along with drop-free mags.

We fired 100 rounds of Blazer Brass 115 grain FMJ, and 50 rounds of Winchester 115 JHP, with zero malfunctions. The empty brass ejection pattern continues to be a consistent 6 feet to the right rear. All in all, a very successful range session. My wife is becoming more and more confident with this pistol, especially with the re-worked trigger.

Winchester 115 grain JHP, 20 yards. The COM shots are my wife's, the head shots are mine. I'm not too happy with the vertical dispersion of the head shots, tho. I was getting tired.

At 20 yards Terry I really don't think you can complain!!! Halve that distance and I'd bet they'd be pretty darned tight.

Glad the ''tweaks'' have helped - I shoot my BHP far too little but always enjoy it when given a chance.

I still want a BHP, it is what I'm saving up for.

I like my BHP, like Chris said though, I don't shoot it enough.

I did some trigger work on mine, after a gunsmith removed the mag safety and then I installed a Wolff Gunsprings reduced power hammer spring. All that made a huge difference in trigger pull.

I also had Ted Yost build a custom thumb safety for it. I have never had a malfunction with the BHP and it seems to be as accurate as any gun I've shot.
