I can't make up my mind

I want another pistol. I didn't until I wondered into one of the local stores today, and the bug bit. I wondered up and down the...isle and couldn't make up my mind. I looked:
The new Glock 21SF...felt nice in hand, 13+1 of 230 grain never hurt my feelings
HK USP Compact in .45. Stainless slide, like HKs, seems like they shortened their trigger pull since the last time I owned one. Also felt good in hand, easy to point.
Glock 26...nice little piece. 9mm.. meh...still a nice all around piece.
XD...don't like the feel in the hand, don't know...doesn't "feel" right to me.

I'm leaning HARD towards the HK...or the G26. It isn't going to fill any need...unless the itchy feeling can be classified as a need

With your chosen options I would lean toward the HK too.
unless the itchy feeling can be classified as a need
Need? - maybe but any itch needs scratched so if a gun will do that - carry on

    It's called a ''want''

I've held the G21 SF. Very nice. Cannot go wrong with 14 .45 ACPs.

It is better to have your gun and not need it, than to need it and not have it!

My vote goes for the HK

Get one of everything. If that isn't an option, do the HK route.

Please, allow me to put some mud in the water!

Go with a Glock 27! Same size as the G-26, you can get a .357 barrel for it and use the same magazines, then a 9mm barrel and some G-26 magazines and have 3 calibers in one gun!
    ALWAYS carry! - NEVER tell!

If you really like the HK with the stainless slide I suggest that you might want to grab it quick. HK is no longer importing the stainless slide versions of the USP into the US. They are being gobbled up quickly especially the USPc 45 and the USPc 9mm. I have the USPc 9mm and it is a great looking and very durable gun. BTW, the stainless slide won't show holster wear like the non-stainless slides.

Now that I think about it, I believe I just justified your "need" to go ahead and purchase the USPc 45. LOL!

    No doubt - the H&K

I have the USP 45f with stainless slide, and it is one of the most solid, reliable guns I own. It is very useful for range, home defense and open carry, although it may be slightly large for CCW. A gun that looks good and holds 12+1 rounds of .45 ACP is a good thing to have. The USP is built like a tank, and I don't think you can wear one out.

heh....the HK seems to be winning. They do make a nice piece.
Of course...the G27 "mud" with the mlti caliber barrel idea does make one think as well.

For the HK fans...does the rail make finding leather/kydex harder?

    Rail from the start?

The rail under the barrel has been on the USP for a long time - maybe since they were first manufactured back in the mid 1990's. I don't recall seeing one without a rail. I believe that any holster you could find today for a USP will accomodate the rail.

I feel much better now..it was meant to be. I went to another store to look at HKs, but all they had were 40s in the black finish. I went to the 1st place and fondled the one I found yesterday again. Found out it was used. No biggie. The only reason I knew this is the guy who traded it in on a 1911 was there. He had no problems with it and was thinking about trying to buy it back. He left and I asked the owner of the shop what is bottom price was. He said "out the door 700"
I had 700 in my pocket that was the most I was going to spend.
    so...she came home with me.

Then...I went by the one of the local LEO supply stores...they had a left handed Blackhawk CQB in stock.

Like i said...meant to me. I NEVER find LH holsters in Nashville anymore for anything but Glock 40s. To top it all off...I found a bunch of my hardware from when I had the full size USP...Blade tech paddle and a Galco paddle. All I need is to try out a IWB and I'm set.
