    Onto my 3rd 1911A1

I'm the previous owner of two Springfield Armory 1911A1 GI 45s, one in SS, and the other was the parkerized finish. I was forced to sell them due to hard financial struggles, but today another 1911A1 makes it into my home. I upgraded from the GI to the Springfield Armory Mil-Spec model, which I love because it has higher profile sights, lowered ejection port, and a chamber indicator. I ended up bringing home the display model, which is fine, it only had minor blemishes which were easily taken care of with some gun oil.

Without further delay, here is a pic of my brand new 1911!

Sweet looking gun, I like the cocking serrations of the Milspec better than the standard vertical serrations on the GI.

Any plans for it, or are you going to leave it stock?

After I pratice with it a bit, I may add a beavertail grip safety, a hammer like the one found on the Loaded model, but that's about it. I don't really need an ambidextrous thumb safety. This gun feels really nice in my hands.

If my memory serves me correctly I think the Mil-Specs are in the $500 range.

Since I live in Alaska, the prices for everything is usually a bit higher than prices in the lower 48. I paid 610 NIB for mine, and this was at the Elmendorf Air Force Base BX.

I had one exactly like it. What surprised me the most was that the first magazine full of ammo that I shot through it was exactly centered on the bullseye at 15 yards...and I mean dead center.

I had a friend of me with me there and he shot it and he ranted and raved about how accurate it was. Like a dummy,I ended up selling it to him.Like usual, I regret it every time I think about it.

Congrats on your purchase. Its hard to go wrong with a 1911.

Sweet. Now get out there and run some rounds through it and let us know how you love it.
