    Detonics 45 ACP

Just saw a program on TV that spent 30 min at the new Detronics Mfg. Plant. I was not awair they were bac in business. Looks like they have taken a good design and are working hard to make it even better. Anybody out there have one on the new models? Any older ones that you would like to share with us? I did a search and got no hits on this brand name so thought I'd start here and see what comes up.

I do have the program saved on TIVO. not sure how to share it with you all tho LOL.

Love that TIVO. finds the good stuff without me asking.

Long story short--Jerry Ahern (yes, the author) was president of the reincarnated firm, run under the name DetonicsUSA. He had assembled some of the original players, and they were trying hard to make a go of it (again). Something mysterious happened a month or two back, and no official announcement has been made. Their website has only a cryptic message. I hope they can recover this time, because it's a good product.

    Cool Detonics CombatMaster

I was looking for a new Combat Master, when I saw this unfired 1976 pistol on Gunbroker.com. The pictures were terrible, but after talking to the seller, I decided to take a chance. It was worth it. Still unfired, I did buy it to shoot!

What channel was it on and what was the name of the show? Maybe there will be a rerun.
Better to be tried by 12, than carried by 6

    Detonics is changing hands again.

There should be some sort of announcement on the detonicsusa web site soon.

I don't know who is taking it away from Ahern though.

The forward-set rear sight and slope cut of the slide were intended for cocking the hammer immediately before firing.

When the original Detonics company was formed, then-current ideas were that Condition Two carry of the 1911 was a good thing. I guess back then, nobody thought about the problems inherent in GETTING a 1911 to Condition Two.
I'll take a .45 and a large side of JHPs, please.
