    advice on adjusting my POI

    Greetings,

I'm having some trouble with a model 13 revolver. My POI is about 4 inches to the right from my POA at roughly ten yards or so. I get very consistant groups, but just 4" to the right. At first, I thought it was my technique, as this was my first magnum revolver. The round butt grip was really beating my hand, but I found a new set of grips that took care of that.
Today at the range, I bought out my model 10 as well, and did a little comparison between the two while shooting 38 specials. With the model 10, my POI was at my POA. So then, I put the grips from the model 10 on the model 13. So with the model 13, using the same ammunition, the same stance, same grips, my POI was about 4 inches to the right of my POA.
I've tried adjusting my stance, grip, nothing really seems to help. I don't have this problem with any of my other revolvers. Is there anything I am possibly overlooking to correct this? I just want to explore all avenues before I file the front site. Thanks for your time!

    Sincerely,
    Peter Maenner

Before you modify the gun check it from rest if you can.
See if you can borrow something to shoot it from so that it doesn't move.

Not sure why you'd want to file the front sight if your having POI issues associated with windage adjustment....?

How do you intend to file the front site?
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

    Greetings,

Thanks for the replies. Sorry, I forgot to mention these are fixed sight revolvers. The barrel doesn't look turned, but I'll give it another look. I'll try it from a rest next time I get to the range and see what happens. To "adjust" the windage, I'd file a bit off the left of the sight, to move the impact left, but I'd rather make sure that it's not me before I do anything.

    Sincerely,

I think I found the problem

    Greetings,

I think I found the culprit. The barrel is turned, I just didn't notice it before. About how much would a gunsmith charge to correct the problem? This is one of the older, pinned smith and wesson revolvers. Thanks for your time!

    Sincerely,
