    For those of you using the mobil 1, what weight? I use the stuff in my truck and had never thought about my guns just used hoppe's 9. I ran in to an old LE friend of mine and he said he used Mobil 1. I run 5w 30 in my truck.

    For those of you using the mobil 1, what weight?
    I picked up 15/50 - which I think in SAE terms is a higher start viscosity ....... better IMO than thinner but probably no real biggie.

    I use 20W50 almost always and 5W30 if I'm out hunting in very cold weather, it's prolly just me but the 20W50 always flows even when cold, I get some bottles with a small brush in the cap from the hobby store and fill em up then brush the oil where I need it.

    I'm not convinced that metal knows whether it's a revolver, or a semi-auto. Metal simply doesn't like to be dry. Find a lube with the viscosity appropriate for the tolerances. That's the only "secret".
