I carry mostly some kind of 1911, and trying to wean myself over to some of the others that I own, and carry them a little more. Glocks, CZ100, Makarov, 92's, and revolvers.

I carry a Glock 23, but when I do carry the Sig it is a Sig P239 in 9mm.

Welcome. Yep that P229 SAS is a BEAUTIFUL gun. If you'll check out my gallery here, you'll see me shooting a example of that fine gun. It was an early example of forum members actually meeting up to share the shooting experience. Our own forum member "Rocnerd" and his lovely wife whom I dubbed "Lady Rocnerd" and I met at a range in Broward county (I live one county further south in Miami-Dade) and he brought his P229 SAS. VERY sweet shooter. I especially like the long smooth and light initial double action shot. If you're in a committed self defense situation that is the perfect way to make the first shot deliberate and 100% accurate. I'm not fond of using that on EVERY shot, however. I found myself "staging" the trigger on the short reset and applying the 10+ pounds to trip off the second shot that way.

    Fortune smiles

I am excited to say that I'll be attending the instructor courses in September offered by Paul Castle of Sabre Tactical. I'm eager to incorporate his C.A.R. Technique. It seems like an iintuitive solution to 'up-close-and-personal' shooting...details as events warrant.

I'm terribly sorry to say that I've not taken the time to take some fotos of the new Sig...I promise to get to that after work tonight! Pictures of my pooch, too!

    Thanks for the welcome!

    Welcome from Texas!

I am in an office, therefore I have had to move to the S&W J frame while at the office, and then move to the G19 when not caught wearing the suit and tie...

Yes, Indeed The Sig Arms 229 SAS DAK in .40cal is my weapon of choice for CCW. But this Hot Box I live in dictates a smaller carry for me until it cools off a bit. I've put +5,000 threw the pipe and she just keeps on ticking. Love my Sig.

Yeah, I live in Miami, myself. Till it cools off, I'll put MY Sig away and carry my S&W M642 in a Mikla pocket holster. Unless I'm on vacation and out of town. Then I put up with a cover garment in exchange for 45 caliber peace of mind.

FINALLY figgered out how to gitcha' some fotos!

I didn't realize how silly that quilt would look behind it. I'll have to get a different background update soon, but I wanted to show it off.
