Recommend grips for L-frame round butt snubbie

I've got a 386 Sc/S and my permit will be here soon. Looking for some concealable grips.

Based on what hasn't worked so far, here's what I'm looking for:

    NO finger grooves.
    NO rubber, wood only.
    Black as a color option.

Ideal grips would be the Pachmayr Compac Pro grips, but in dark wood. They're the perfect size, but the rubber catches my clothing. The uncheckered Eagle Secret Service grips look promising with the single finger groove, but I'd hate to lay out $80 and find out it doesn't work for me.

    Any ideas?

[I've just posted this at the S&W forum so apologies to those of you who frequent both...]

    Ahrends grips

You might want to look at Ahrends grips, which are attractive wood grips for revolvers and 1911s that come in many types of wood. They cost in the $60 to $72 range. Here is a link to their website and a couple of photos:

Thank you! A few folks at the S&W forum recommended those too, I'm going to take a good look at those.

    Another suggestion

    Greetings,

I spent a lot of time looking for the right grips for my model 13, (the grip size is the same as an L-frame), and really like the herrett's detective grips (thier model rkr, I think). I found some on ebay relatively cheap, I think I paid 25 dollars or so. It's something you may want to check out. Good luck!

    Sincerely,

You might also consider crimson trace laser grips. One of the models for the L frame is relatively small and can be used for CCW.
