    Nice pistola there, pistola. Sorry I couldn't resist. It really is a nice pistol.

    I wonder if the fitted case was early or late? My case is a generic Colt case and big enough for a 1911. Except for having the Colt sticker with the correct model and serial number on the end I would think that it was a replacement case.

    Doc; As for the case, I,m not real sure. Manual is Part No. 96061 REV C DEC 94...............

    My manual is Part No. 96061 REV D JUL 96. So evidently they went to a generic case like so many manufactures did for the later pistols. That's a help. I may be able to find a date of manufacture by looking up the serial number, but I'll have to do some research. For my Smiths it's easy since I have the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson. I don't know if there is a book or website that gives dates for serial numbers on Colts or not.
