Wellll, I got bit again by the "gotta have it" bug.
I found this S&W 19-3 2 1/2 Bbl 357 mag Pinned and recessed cylinder and white outline sights at the Store..212.50 was the final cost.... This thing was probably a Glovebox gun, by the typical surface rust it had, and the factory grips were all buggered up as well.
Ok.First task was to take Breakfree and a penny.<yes this really works> and SLOWLY and lightly, rub the breakfree and the penny across the rust... try it it really works. I got it all cleaned up, with exception of some pitting on one side of the gun.. NICE BLUE and little holster wear will make this a PERFECT gun for riding on my Goldwing.. Mixed with a set of Pachmayer Professonal grips, and 4 speedloaders (2 safariland and 2 Second Six <not 6 second> as the Second Six were made for the recessed cylinder guns as the rounds were push-fed into the chambers.. The Holster was originally made for the 2 1/2 in 686 model when the guns first came out..by S&W and it's lined.. To say the least, I never get rid of my leather or speed loaders...."just in case"...Range report to follow very soon.. soo here it is:

Nice S&W, but doesn't it break your heart to see a nice firearm like that be treated the way it was? The cylinder picture is almost enough to make you want to slap someone. 10 minutes a year could have prevented the problems. Ah, well, but then Bob would not have gotten it for such a pittance.
Awaiting the range report.

You're right George! a good 10 minuites of preventive care could have solved the trouble with this little gun... BUT <sigh> what is one mans' trash is another mans' treasure! I hit it right.. and cleaned it up...so it will make for a good carry gun for sure!

Explain the break-free and penny bit?
A nice shooter! Congrats on getting it. Great Price!
The way CLASS3NH buys guns I'm surprised he could find an extra penny laying around somewhere.
Never heard of using break free and a penny. I always used 00 steel wool and oil.

Very nice! Congrats on the new purchase!

You are a lucky man. I hate to see a good revolver treated that way. I'm glad it found a good home even if it is not with me.
A real man loves his wife, and places his family as the most important thing in life. Nothing has brought me more peace and content in life than simply being a good husband and father.
Very nice. I've got a model 19-6, It's a great shooter.
