Llama Mini Max
So I found one brand new for $270. I took it out the very next day and ran 100 rds ball ammo, then a 100 rds hollowpoint. It ran perfect. i know that on the 1911 hierarchy the Llama is not tops, but more importatly....in my price range. Plus 10 rds of .45 in a weapon that size is nice. Anyone had any experiance with these? It's going to be shot ALOT more, but might become a carry gun someday.
I had one and got rid of it in a week, it was horrible, brass hit me in the forehead, could barely engage or disengage the thumb safety, wouldn't feed half the time...you name it. Slide stop was flimsy.
I wanted to love that little gun, it was my second handgun, but it didn't work out.
I'm glad yours is working. Unfortunately Llama is out of business, but you can still get the gun serviced through...Eagle imports IIRC, if needed.
I think I have only heard the name Llama once or twice. Definitely not familiar with them.
yeah.... they are great guns for the money. Sometimes they need a lil' spit and polish. Sometimes not. Good find ....
I had a Llama .38 super many years ago and it was great! Also had a Llama .22 copy of a S&W K-22 and it was horrible.
Good luck with your Llama.
I don't know about the MiniMax. But I have an old Max I that I bought back in the early ninties. Iv'e put a few thousand rounds through it with out a hitch. I still shoot it. One thing, if it breaks good luck finding parts. They went out of business. Parts can be found but not easy.
