When you’re wounded and left on Afghanistan’s plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier.

I just bought a S&W 442. I have long been a snubbie guy, having owned a S&W 36,37 and 60. My wife keeps the 60 so I have been carrying a Taurus 85. A friend wanted the Taurus so I sold it to him and bought the 442.
I usually used a Holster or Barami Hip grip and tucked the snubbie in at about the 1:00 position. After pocket carrying a Kel-tec P-32 I wanted to get a light snubbie to try pocket carry. I wore it around the house for a week and with anything but tight jeans it carried well in the Mika holster.
I finally took it to the woods today to see how it shoots. I had my own handloaded Lead 158 gr RNFPs and also 135 GDHPs.
Wow, That little sucker barks! I was surprised at how sharp the recoil is. It is bearable but not tottaly enjoyable and I do a lot of pistol shooting with big handguns and some hard kicking T/C Contenders but none seemed as bad as the 442.
For plinking I am going to download my handloads just for that gun and carry the Gold Dots for protection.
The trigger was smooth but heavy. It shot right on as far as height but slightly to the right but that could have been me and that heavy double action. I will slick it up a little and dry fire it a lot to see what happens.
It is a neat little pocket gun and I will probably still use it in a waistband holster with jeans though.
Nice 442!! I just got my new 642 out the other day and I know what you mean by "Bark"! Man, this is the first handgun I've shot to actually make my hand hurt when I was done. It also rubbed two spots on my thumb raw. But, it shoots well and carry's even better so she's a keeper for sure!![]()

Here's mine, a 1966-67 S&W Model 12, 38 Spl Airweight. Sits in my nightstand with Federal low recoil Hydrashok and a speedloader. Was given to us by my father-in-law, and it used to belong to my wife's great uncle, so its one of our more sentimental guns. Sorry for the poor pic quality, it is prettier in person.

Here's my "pimp" gun for when I'm dressed up. I've since replaced the bobbed hammer and added a Tyler tee grip...
Older Model 38. It's not +p rated, but rides well in the pocket with a Destantis Nemesis
Guess its time to get a snubbie.
Needed a bug anyway![]()

Here's ours. It's a Rossi, 2 inch barrel and a full 6 shots, stainless steel, and the grips feel great.
It shoot very well too. My wife loves this gun.
