This is a discussion on Show us your snub! within the Defensive Carry Guns forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; With all the new 642’s being shown off lately, (CONGRATS to all the recent purchases) I thought the 442’s should be represented as well.

Hmmm...did they change the 605 specs, or is the slicked-flush-with-the-frame hammer DAO just an option? This is the second one I've seen with a hammer spur.
IMO, both ways have their advantages, (mine draws much easier from the vest or SmartCarry with nothing there to snag, and the trigger is smooth enough that SA wouldn't make much difference at defensive shooting distances) but it seems odd to have such a major functional difference in a revolver without assigning a new model number.
Well - don't snub carry these days any more but - here is my first ever carry piece, the old M85 Taurus - it has severe holster wear!! Full of character and still shoots fine.
After that the SP-101 which was carry for many months.

Whats the best way to clean a snubby? (or revolver in general) I noticed that this got alot dirtier than my XD9 or at least its showing it more because its stainless steel instead of black, but what process do you guys use to clean yours?
Is it cool to run the bore brush throught the wheel?

I employ Hoppe's No. 9, a bronze brush, and patches for the chambers and the barrel when cleaning my revolvers after each use. A light brushing of the inside of frame window, yoke, and the cylinder face with either a nylon or bronze brush (depending on the amount of deposits) and swabbing dry completes the cleaning process.
