Wasn't Bob Munden the guy who shot 5 clubs on a playing card in 2 sec?

    Damn!

Yeah, that's here, as well as post #9 in this thread.

The claim of fastest gun who ever lived is on Munden's web site. I didn't coin it.

I bet you'd change your mind, Doc, if you ever saw Munden perform in person.

    I have.

    I have.
I know you didn't coin it. I saw it on the website when I checked it out.

I think that he needs to be a little more modest about his abilities. One thing I can't stand is a little to much hubris.

I think I have seen him before on a history channel show about trick shooting. He is good, I'll give him that.

While there is (obviously) no way to say for certain who is "the fastest gun that ever lived," I would bet a years pay that Bob Munden is faster than any of the so-called gunslingers of the old West. Remember, these guys didn't have to be fast in the abstract, they just had to be faster then the other guy... Also, there's no way they fired the number of rounds as Bob, spent the time practicing that he has, or have access to modern equipment like Bob does. Not to take anything away from the skills of our cowboy legends - I'd bet on them in an actual gunfight, under most circumstances - but I seriously doubt that any of them could approach the raw speed of Mr. Munden.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

I couldn't agree with you more, there, Doc. Like I said before, his vocablulary doesn't include the "M" word.

I guess when someone talks the talk, they better be able to walk the walk. But then, there's bragging, and there's bragging!

Yeah, Bob has made some AMAZING shots. Met him out in Las Vegas at the first SASS convention a few years back.
