No, I think that is the SAS. The Equinox is a pretty 229.

    Thumbs up Got It

I "whoopsed" the photo uploading the wrong one.
That (now) is one is the one I intended to put up.
Oh good...now we have both the right and left sides posted.

I've seen them at the store, they are pretty guns. The P229 has a good reputation and people seem to like them. I don't have any personal experience though.

Equinox is a finish and styling version that is available on several of Sig's handguns. Check out their website.

I haven't handled or seen one up close yet.
It comes in .40 and .45 cal.
    Maybe 9mm also.
    I think it's a HOT looking gun!
It's selling for $1017. in a nearby shop.
I wonder if any are available CPO?

I would doubt it, although anything is possible.

Look, it's a BEAUTIFUL pistol. No doubt about it, but I'd NEVER carry one. Why? Too many sharp edges to snag on clothes or wear a hole thru a cover garment and be uncomfortable digging into my sides.

That is exactly why Sig came up with the SAS design which feels like a bar of slightly melted soap in your hand and snags NOWHERE! Somebody post a pic of the SAS.

Okay, here ya go, this is the P-220 SAS... just home from shooting too!

    ALWAYS carry! - NEVER tell!

I pulled up pics of the SAS and 220R and put them side by side to evaluate the "snag" potential.
As far as I can see, the only MAJOR change is that the SAS is dehorned and the front edges have been rounded.
How much would a hammer bob job be on a 220?
And I'm used to the 92FS anyway so edges don't bother me.
    Good point though.
    I'll keep that in mind.

I own a 229 Equinox, and I actually really enjoy shooting it. I do need to contact Sig and get a set of the wooden grips for it (I got one of the early ones with no wooden grips). I have to contact customer service.

As far as the finish goes, I like it, it looks really nice. I've never carried it, and actually I prefer to shoot my USPc, but that's all personal opinion. If I had to, I would definately trust my life to my Sig229 :)

De-HORNED? That covers a whole lot of ground. It's not a little thing especially on a Sig SAS which stands for Sig Anti Snag. The Equinox has a whole lot more sharp edges than my M92FS, too. I like the look of the Equinox and it feels good in my hand, but wearing one all day long when the De-HORN job on the SAS or for that matter my Sig P226 Blackwater is so much nicer? I think the Equinox is something that should be mounted on a wall or in a display case and pulled out for IDPA matches. Maybe hang a light on it and keep it for dedicated home defense, as I have done with my H&K USP 45 fullsize. IMHO. Oh there's one more advantage to the SAS, it's not just dehorned and "bobbed," it has the propietary DAK trigger action. (Double Action Kellerman for the Sig employee who invented it) That's DAO... but super-smooth and light.
