    I used to and you're gonna love it! Now I carry a P-220 .45!

Actually, I have three of 'em!

    Fairly large gun

I have a Sig P226 in 9mm and did carry it a few times several years ago. I think I was influenced by how well the gun shot and the large capacity (15+1 rounds). But it is a pretty large gun, especially in the grip area, and I decided it was too hard to conceal. I put it next to my H&K USP 45, and they were almost exactly the same size and fit in the same holsters.

I recall switching to my Glock 19 which had the same capacity as the P226 but was quite a bit smaller and lighter weight. I still use the Sig frequently as a range gun.

The P226-40 is a fantastic weapon. I will never be without it. I personally think it's TOO big to carry, but I also know many that do not think so.

Like pogo I think the Glock compact has a great capacity and size. I now carry the G23c and will be purchasing the G19 by the end of the year.

You purchased a great weapon and at a great price.... have fun playing with it.

I've got a 226 .40 DAK w/o rail and I love it. Don't have a holster for it. I'd consider a crossdraw paddle for vehicle carry, but other than under a heavy coat I don't think I can conceal it. In the wintertime I'd rather have my 1911 in .45 ACP, but I certainly wouldn't be without this gun! Its easy on recoil and simple in operation - great for my wife. All she has to do is pull the trigger. Good for the car and the house. I may end up using it as a CCW if I can get some more 10 rd mags and get my license in CA when I come back here.

I have a P226 and a P228 in 9mm and also P220 in .45. I pick my carry gun for the day like picking out which shoes I am going to wear.
Congrats on the acquisition! I am sure it will serve you well!
