Mine are "black" with the blasted finish. They look grey. I don't mind that my sweaty handprint shows on them - they feel good and work. I've read you can put them in the dishwasher to get stains off (oil, sweat, etc.)
I don't know why I said I had the linen ones - I have the canvas ones. They aren't "rough" in a bad way - more like freshly sanded balsa wood (for lack of a better description).

Actually I was wrong, they aren't slim line grips they are standard thickness grips, for some reason they just felt thinner...
I just put my Hogues on for the time being untill I figure out what I want, I think I'm probably just going to go with the Mil-Tac G-10 black and gray diagonal grips.
