    XD Melt Job

A good friend helped me a lot with most of this. Credit should go where it's due. The melt job was all him, and he taught me how to stipple a grip. The grip chop I did myself, and Coal Creek Armory refinished the slide for me with their Melonite QPQ treatment, and smoothed up an edge or two. Then they added the green/green TFOs.

All told...excellent. I can't wait to shoot it. Now for the pics.

That's all, folks. Enjoy...if you have any questions, feel free to contact me at jsebens@sbcglobal.net.

You have a nice tight carry package now.
You did a nice job texturing the grip.
    That should do it.

An alternative is the A-Grip. Works well on my PM9.

the compact is only available in .45. not to start an ammo war, but i'm sticking with my 9mm for now. i'm not really wanting to buy a sub-compact xd. if/when SA finally releases a compact 9mm i will most likely get it.

+1 for Agrips. I got one on ebay for about $6 shipped for my G27...normally you pay over $30. Donno if that deal is still around.

    Love 'em!

Why no SubC? They come with extended mags if you want, so it's basically like the compact. Is it the shorter barrel? Should be easier to conceal with it.

I have both the 45 Compact and a 40 SubC. Haven't carried either yet, so not sure how they'd fare.

    Email sent.

That is a very attractive XD you have there now. I really like it. It reminds me of a Colt Commander now with the longer barrel and short grip.

    I want one now.

no SubC because i don't want a shorter barrel, and i can conceal a full size just fine under just a t-shirt. i'd go for the compact simply to make it easier to conceal by having a shorter grip. the barrel length doesn't matter (to a certain extent) since i carry IWB.
