    Nighthawk Talon II

I decided to get rid of my Ultra Raptor. I've learned I'm not too fond of a 3 inch alloy 1911. They're a bit too snappy for my taste on recoil with 230 grain loads. I took a Glock friend shooting so he could try out 3 and 4 inch 1911s to see if he liked them and he agreed the 4 inch is pretty much perfect for CCW (in our opinion. So, I started looking for the replacement, HK, Sig, Glock, Springfield. All of them were good but I didn't get that feeling. Someone had purchased a Nighthawk Talon II with the bobtail and Diamond Black finish a while back from the shop, took it home, put it in the safe and forgot about it. He traded it in on a Browning over/under a few weeks ago and every time I walked into the shop it called to me. (it didn't help that the fella behind the counter was way too eager to show it to me every time)
I had three rather large invoices come in, they had a high end custom pistol that never had a round through it but it was being sold as used...it was a match made in heaven...no matter what the wife says :-)

DANG this thing can shoot. 100 rounds, flawless. I don't shoot for small groups, I go for COM only. This thing made it way too easy. I don't have any qualms carrying it even with only 100 rounds on the clock. The diamond black finish is smooth as glass. The frame/slide fit is the best I've seen. No grit, no binding, nothing. It feels like glass on glass. I thought the bobtail was going to take some getting used to, not really. It helps in concealment, and helps me get in target a bit quicker. The trigger reset is almost too short. It's nothing to run double taps all day long.

Mmmm, mmm ......... that is tasty!!! Beaut' finish and appears to have real fine sights mounted.

All in all - a great find (we won't prod for how much trauma the pocket book received! )

The pocketbook get the mess smacked out of it :-)
The gun retailed for a bit over 3100 with the diamond black finish, bobtail and sights that the guy ordered
Sticker was a tad over 2400.00 I got the gun, 100 rounds, targets, range time and the magwell with installation on the CDP for 2K after trading in the Ultra Raptor

Now...I closed two of the biggest deals of my company life this week (and have another in the works) and pocketed a little over 10K in profit so...I celebrated a bit more than usual :-)

That's really a beauty. I've had the chance to shoot a couple of Nighthawks and they're quite impressive. Nothing like a new 1911 to help you celebrate!

That looks perfect in every way! It's good to treat yourself from time to time. Enjoy it!
