Awsome! Congrats! Those 442's and 642's sure are great!
Good purchase.
Know what - if Smith stopped making everything but the snubs - they'd still have excellent sales, enough to survive! Must be the best selling line ever.
Welcome to the club! I absolutely enjoy the 442. Between that and my G19, all others now are range and safe queens!
Congrats on the new Smith. I have found that my 642 goes everywhere I go, even if I'm carrying a larger gun. The 442/642 in a pocket holster is by far the most comfortable way to carry a firearm.
Have fun with your new toy!

Very nice! I'm saving up for a 340. How do you like it so far? Have you shot it yet? How do you plan on carrying it?

Congrats everyone needs a snubbie
Congrats on making a fine choice.
My 442 is my 24/7 EDC as a BUG Off-Duty.
I love the little blaster. Not much to go wrong is how I look at it. It rides great on the ankle or in the support side pocket with a round that can pack enough of a "punch" if you place them where they belong.

I'm sorry to say that I have not yet got to shoot it. I literally picked it up over lunch today. You can be assured that I'll work it out this weekend, though. I plan on hitting the range first thing tomorrow morning.
I have ordered a DeSantis Nemesis for it (a ton of guys on the forum have recommended that as a pocket holster), but I'm also considering a Mika pocket holster (another great reputation). I suppose I may invest in an akle holster someday, and possibly even other modes of carry (man, this little gun is one versatile tool), but if I'm going to carry on my belt I'd just as soon that be my glock.

Congrats....love my 642 as well!!!:congrats:
Now you need a Mika pocket holster
When you go from a medium framed semi to a J-frame, the difference is amazing. You actually can wear whatever you want and be comfortabe carrying. It's so easy to forget its there, as opposed to a semi poking at you. Congrats on buying the 442, I just bought one not to long ago and am amazed at its accuracy.
I am saving up for the 442 or 642. What is the best price folks have seen them for? I also have to decide which one it is that I want to purchase.
I'm thinking appendix carry for when I get mine - I'd like to get a Seecamp for pocket carry and I think that would be much more comfortable than a revolver. I'll probably get some cheap mass produced holster and see how I like it to start off. Enjoy!

Nice !
The MSRP on it is over $529, but you can expect to pay (for a new one) around $430. The big chains (Bass Pro and Cabela's) are a little more expensive and the single-owner shops are a little less (I buy from a single-owner - I know his name and he knows mine). You can get a used one (good condition) for between $300 and $340.
Good luck and good hunting!
