    Stainless Steel Carry Pistol

I'm getting a home equity loan, and I've decided I want a high end stainless steel carry pistol. I'm looking for some help here - money is not really an issue, so let's get creative on this one.

The only requirement is that its reasonably carry friendly IWB or OWB (probably 32 ounces, and 5" or less barrel).

What high end stainless steel carry pistols are on the market right now?

    Thanks in advance.

If you are looking for a 1911, call John at Pro Load (208) 772-2339. He has great prices on Les Baer.
    Have fun,

If I was going to go "High End" I would get a Colt SAA in 45LC and stick it in the safe as an "investment" that I could shoot occaisionaly. Then I would get a Thunder Ranch Revolver in 45 ACP and carry and shoot that after I had the Performance Center "trick it out".
Oh wait, I already did that. Sorry I am not much help today. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to put in their $0.02.

It may not cost a ton of $$$, but a "high-end" performance wise, all stainless carry pistol is a Kahr K9, K40, etc..

My personal choice is the Sig Sauer P-220 SS Carry Elite!
    Heck, any SIG is quality!

Another option I have chosen is a Springfield SS Loaded Champion "4 .45 ACP. I love SS guns!

Agree with Thumper - Sig P220 Carry Elite Stainless

I would agree with Thumper's comment above regarding the new Sig P220 Carry Elite Stainless. Here is a photo from the Sig website:

    If you are going high-end,

Then have somebody like Dave Dawson or Benny Hill to build you an STI and have it hard chromed; hard chrome will give vastly superior resistance to corrosion, it will have about 1/10 the wear of Stainless and you will have a high-capacity 1911 that has no equal, especially if Dawson or Hill put it together..

My EDC is the SIG 226 ST ....... stainless. Pretty much full size and quite heavy but that suits me. Excellent gun IMO.

IIRC you'd be into over $800 for new.

Nice gun, Chris. But I think a gun that heavy would pull my pants clean off.

Personally I have a prejudice against pistols that do not have a manual safety. I like the Browning Hi-Power and the 1911. The Hi-Power, of course, is not available in stainless, but I understand that both Sig and CZ make very good 9mm with manual safeties. Of course ANYTHING can be chromed or nickel plated if you want the silver color. if you are just looking for the protection, you can look at having a steel pistol re-finished in Melonite or Black-T.

So, now that I have rambled enough..... Is your preference for Stainless because of looks or corrosion resistance, and do you have a preference for caliber????

Stainless for looks and corrosion resistance. Caliber preference, in order would be 9mm, 45, 40, 357Sig, 38 Super.

Kahr K9 or K40, not to mention Kimber ProCarry in stainless if you want to go to .45acp. There's lots of good ones out there...good luck with your choice.
