    I picked up a few new toys today

    One is for carry, the other isnt. So I thought I would post the pics in this forum rather than the 'general'. I've been looking for a beater Colt Detective Special to put in the carry rotation and all I've been able to find are 2 NIB Colt Cobras. I love them VERY much but dont really want to expose them to the elements of carring concealed so.....Ive been calling around and found a guy who had a Detective Special. So I went to look at it, did the usual revolver function check and then spotted a LNIB Colt Python!! I got the serial numbers, came home, checked the production year, asked a bunch of questions on another forum, went back today and bought them. Im really happy with them. The Python needed nothing, but the DS was really bad. I polished for hours this afternoon and Im pretty satisfied with the way it came out. I got such a sweet deal, I thought I could send the DS off to get re-finished, but I think Ill wait on that now. Here are a few pictures. Thanks for looking.

    Thank you pgrass for the kind words. This new Colt revolver sickness is bad. I've bought 4 in 7 days. Ive got to stop. I just spotted a nickel Lawman MKIII 2 inch!! Ahhhhhhh!!!! I want that one now. Anyway, thanks! Kevin.

    Like P95 said I am a diehard S&W revolver fan, but I want a Python so bad it hurts. I was looking at them today on GunBroker and at $900 it won't be anytime soon. I wish I would have bought one back in the 70's-80's when they were some what affordable. Can I ask what you paid for the Python? You can PM if you like.

    Hello Kevin L. Thats funny, In Kevin L too I paid 1059.00 for both, plus tax and background check. He had the Python marked as stainless, but I was told (on another forum) Colt didnt make stainless Pythons till 83, this one is an 80. SO he didnt know what he had. The nickel ones go for more around here than the newer stainless versions. And the 4 inch versions are nowhere to be found. Anyway, the way Im looking at it is, I got the DS for free.
