    Angel,

I am also interested in the new PPS. Do you have a comparison of the specs between the two guns? For me, the allure of the PPS is it's very thin width.

    Thanks.

For some reason, I like the idea of the "trigger finger memory spot"

I don't have a comparison, but i do like the capacity of the storm alot. Just don't like the safety clicking upward, it's un natural feeling for my thumb. My PT140 pro has the safety button going down, so it's very easy and very quick to take off safety. And about the price, it's about $575, but i don't know if that's going to stay.

Walther PPS specs vs. Beretta PX4 subcompact

On the Walther website are these specs for the new PPS:

    Model-: PPS
    Caliber-: 9mm
    Length: 6.3"
    Height: 4.4"
Overall Width/Width without slidestop lever and takedown buttons: 1.04"/.91"
    Barrel Length: 3.2"
    Sight Radius: 5.4"
    Weight (without Mag): 19.4 oz.
    Standard Magazine Weight: 1.9 oz.
    Action: Striker Fire Action, Pre-Cocked
    Trigger Pull: 6.1 lbs.
    Frame: Black Polymer

And here are the Beretta specs from the linked article on the PX4 subcompact:

    SPECIFICATIONS: STORM PX4 SUBCOMPACT
    MAKER: Beretta USA
    ACTION: Semiauto double action
    CALIBER: 9mm, .40 S&W
    CAPACITY: 13 (9mm); 10 (.40 S&W)
    BARREL LENGTH: 3 inches
    OVERALL LENGTH: 6.25 inches
    WEIGHT: 26.1 ounces
    SIGHTS: Fixed, three-dot combat
    STOCKS: Plastic
    FINISH: Matte Black
    PRICE: $575

The two guns have similar barrel lengths and overall lengths, but there are other large differences shown, such as:

    1. Mag. Capacity - Beretta 13 rounds in 9mm, Walther 6,7, or 8 rounds
    2. Width of gun - Walther 0.91 overall except for 1.04 at slide stop lever, Beretta doesn't say but looks to be considerably wider due to double stack magazine.
    3. Firing system - Beretta has external hammer, Walther has striker.
    4. Weight - Beretta 26.1 ounces empty, Walther 21.3 ounces empty.

So the Walther is the more concealable, smaller capacity gun - much like a Kahr P9. The Beretta is a larger, wider, high capacity gun like the Glock 26.

Another sub compact with an accessory rail?? With an additional spot for your cover clothing to catch on?

They are "neat" looking, don't know what other word to use.
I'd try one out if I had the $$, just to be different..

BTW, how many people actually use these accessory slide rails? They are everywhere now..

The full size PX4 is 1.42" wide. From what I can see the subcompact is the same width. So the Beretta would be about .4" wider than the Walther.

A good friend has a full sized PX4 and I found that I rather liked it despite it being a plastic gun. It has a nice trigger.
