Couldn't resist -- New Colt!
Well, I went to the gun show here in San Antonio, determined to come home with a Smith & Wesson J-Frame, probably a 442, to use as a carry piece while my right arm is on the mend. I've been carrying my young bride's Cobra, but I knew it wasn't fair for me to deprive her of it for long. I'm considerate like that.
So I checked J-Frame prices on line, read lots of reviews, looked at pictures, got a pocket-full of cash, and had my plan. It lasted all of 20 minutes.
For what should I happen upon but a new-in-box, unfired, with all paperwork and manuals, Colt Detective Special. It's a 1993 model, the 4th Issue (which is just like the 3rd Issue, except with Colt-logoed Pachmayr grips standard). I looked at it, held it, talked price with the individual (not a dealer) selling it, even stepped back and talked with a holster vendor for a bit. Then I looked back at the booth and saw another fellow looking at it. As soon as he stepped away (without buying it - whew!), I was back. The power of cash spoke and it was mine!
I've been wanting another Dick Special ever since I sold mine years ago at a time of financial need, and I never found the right weapon when I had the right cash, until now.
Ladies & Gentlemen, meet my new CCW:

And here's the catalyst for the grand plan (and the latest in orthopaedic fashion):
Cheers,
Rod

Very cool - and I mean both pictures... I guess if I would have to have a cast on my arm it might as well look good, and that does look GOOD!!!

It seems you lucked out bigtime on that ...... and it's unlikely you'll lose a cent on it.
Hope the arm gets on well - once you can use it again - building it up can be done by shooting
(carefully at first).

Beautiful gun, I've always wanted one of those myself. Looks like the right arm's dressed for deer season too.

Sorry about the arm....congrats about the gun!
I had a first generation DS back in the mid-80's....like a knucklehead, I sold it. I now have a mint (in the box) early-80's (?) vintage Colt Agent.
