    Brought Home A S&W 649 Today

Stopped by my local shop today "just because"
and they had a like new S&W 649 .357 in the display case, I Just Had To Have It ! . Problem was that I had NO money, and I promised my wife that I wouldn't get any more guns.......
So I traded my 2 least desirable guns ( the Rossi and the Taurus) for the 649.... and they tossed in $100 in ammo.

    Was I foolish?

    Was I foolish?
Yep - but so what?! LOL

Doubt it's the last time either - meaning 'foolish' of course in a fun sense! In this regard I have been 'foolish' more times than I might want to admit.

    Good job!

Good trade! You got what you want, and, while you will regret getting rid of the other guns someday (you ALWAYS do!) you should be a happy camper today!

Excellent gun. I thought the 649 was the steel Centennial though ... what model am I thinking of? May be foolish but I'd have done the same thing.

The steel Centennial is the 640, it has an internal hammer and is DAO. The 649 has the shrouded hammer which can be cocked for SA shooting, although most of your training should be DA.

Kruz, I think you made a wise move...there's nothing like a Smith in my opinion!

Not at all. One can live without a Rossi or a Taurus. One cannot live without a Smith and Wesson. Pretty simple really.

I'd have made that trade, too. Good choice!
