Another Bobtail in black and white.

Playing with the camera. I think that I got a lot better detail and overall sharpness with this set of pics. This camera does too much.

The gun is a Scandium S&W with snakeskin bob, target crown and other good stuff.

This is one of my very favorite carry guns. Nice and light, full .45 power and it is a 1911. The extra "series 80" safety does not interfere with getting a good trigger at all and the Scandium is lighter than steel and tougher than regular steel. I like the S&W execution of the external extractor. Tough and it works and needs no adjustment. The biggest problem Kimber had with their "tactical" extractor was that the lever was not long enough. This one is more than. Also, the Caspian external extractor is very very good, so is the Sig. Not sure why I started thinking about that.

Jess, you keep posting these pictures and my tongue hangs out everytime. Pretty soon I'm going to have to make a decision - whether to learn to live with lots of drooling or quit opening your threads. The third option of buying one isn't an option at the moment.

I guess I'll just learn to live with the drooling cause I don't have the will power to quit opening your threads.

In reality - thanks for posting the photos of these fantastic firearms.

Bobtailing alone is not really that expensive. If you have a gun that you would like just a bobtail, trigger job and target crwon on, you should get in touch with me. We are talking about somewhere in the $200-$300 range for a bob and some trigger work and crowning. It only starts to get up there if you want sight changes and changing the MIM innards to better components. Never assume that you cannot afford something until you get a quote on it. Some of this work is not as expensive as you might think.

    For example
    Bobtail labor is $75.00
    Bobtail housing is $75.00
    Refinishing the frame is $90.00
    Target crown is $30.00
    Trigger job is $75.00
    Grip Trim is free.

About $350.00 right there. If someone on the forum wants this done, I will throw in the trigger work for free. And I can take credit cards through a secure server right now. I know that this is blatently commercial and I apologize for that, but I know that there are those that want to know how much it is and also want to have the work done. AND this is a special deal for just members of this forum so make sure that if you want this done to reference the forum in your call or email. And if this post is out of line with the rules, sorry!

Then there is the shipping :-( and it has to go overnight, I hate that.

For those of us in the area do you have a storefront?

I have a Springfield loaded model that could use a refinish and overhaul.
It would be easier to drop it off then to ship it.
