    Question sidearms similar to kahr

Have been wanted to get a kahr for carry because of the width, weight, caliber options, etc.

Are there any handguns that have similar features that come with a lower pricetag?

    Jetmak,

I'd look at KelTec and Glock...

the Keltec is going to be about the same size as the kahr but better priced... althoug probably a smaller round.

The glocks are available in the same caliber options, and with a smaller price tag, but have larger physical foot prints.

Yeah, I was just gonna say the Walther PPS, also. I don't think there are others that really compare.

The closest you can come to the dimensions of Kahr is by comparing it to micro 1911's such as the Springfield Loaded Micro Compacts, the EMP, Kimber Ultra's ...

Can't compare a Kahr to a Glock as a Glock is a double stack and therefore it's dimensions do not compare. Other small guns such at the Bersa Thunder are actually larger than the Kahr P, K, and CW series and doesn't even begin to compare to the PM series. Of course the Kel-Tec is smaller than the Kahr ... pretty amazing.

The Walther PPS is the closest thing out there to a Kahr - slightly more expensive - and they need to make the controls just a bit more intuitive and reachable in the next run.

Budget priced guns that are comparably slim & light to Kahr's:
    In 9mm-
    Kel-tec PF-9 (width .88)
    Kel-tec P11 (width 1.0)
    Skye CPX-1 (width 1.0)
    Taurus PT111 (width 1.125)

    In 40-
    Taurus PT140 (width 1.125)

    In 45-
    Taurus PT145 (width 1.25)
    Taurus PT745 (width 1.125)
    Cobra Patriot 45 (width 1.0)

All these guns can be had for $300. Some of them as little as $200 if you look hard. From everything that I've read about them they work, but typically are not as well finished as more expensive guns. Some of you may raise eyebrows at the inclusion of the Cobra, but I've read several current reviews that say it's reliable & accurate enough for CCW.

Kel Tec is about the only thing that comes close in size, but of course the Kahr is a much more quality pistol.

You can always go with the CW9 from Kahr, its a lot cheaper but still a good gun.

Go with the Kahr, I bought a NIB CW9 for $315 on gunbroker.com, not much more $ than the cheaper brands, a CW40 can be purchased for the same!

A Kel-tec P11/PF9 or Taurus PT111, 140 or 145 Pro are the two type of guns that are closest.

I like my P11. I can buy 3 to 4 of them for one Kahr

+1, I've been looking at the CW9 because my daughter asked me to. Her Browning HI-Power is just to large to carry.
