I have caught the handgun bug and am looking to purchase something new. I am looking for something that I can use as a truck gun or just a plinker. I am intrigued by surplus handguns, but don't have much experience with them. I am interested in the Star PD and BM, but I can't find anyone that carries either. What surplus gun would you get for $350.00 or less? Oh and I found some Sig 225 P6s for $299.00 which would be another option since I don't own a Sig. Any suggestions?

Of those you mentioned, I'd definately go for a SIG!

Well, I'll change it a bit. If you want a new gun in your price range look at the Ruger P95DC. I have one and really enjoy shooting it now and then. They can take a beating too.
There's an Admin around here somewhere who used to carry one. What was his name again??????????????

How about a CZ-52 and 800 rounds of ammo for your $250? Replace the firing pin and they are practically indestructable. A real flamethrower in the dark.

The CZ are a excellent choice as well as some of the new Cougar models, you may also be able to find some surplus Glocks in that price range. I surely can't argue the Sig is a great deal. I heard the NC GM. has them for $250. Good luck in your decision and enjoy your new gun.

Finding Star pistols can be frustrating. I assume you know Star has been defunct for some time now and parts are even harder to find, including magazines. New mags can be very pricey too. Good price on the Sig.

For a plinker and truck gun you can never go wrong with a police trade in S&W K frame. .38 ammo is availible everywhere and cheap. and the revolvers are boot leather tough.
