Couldn't afford the sig I wanted and the pretty rosewood grips.
Not saying I settled for the glock either. I've handled it and it feels and shoots great. Easy to conceal. Just not as pretty as the sig.
I'm excited to have another gun in the collection.
Congrats on the Glock,......... now buy more to keep it company. Great guns.
Congrats on the new Glock. Great guns. My primary carry is a 27 but the days I can carry bigger, I go with a Kimber Compact (1911), ProCarry (1911) or my Glock 19.
I get grief from the 1911 AND the Glock guys. :)
You won't be sorry ! I really like my glock 17 and I also have a glock 26 as this
seems to be the problem once you get one you want more.
My friend bought a G17 (well, techincally, his mom bought a G17, as we were still in High School) in late 1986. After adjusting to the (unusual at the time) feel of the polymer, we all fell in love with the gun. Light, accurate, high capacity, easy to shoot - and in 1986 they were still pretty rare, so there wasn't the "everybody has a Glock, I need something different" mentality that you see 20 years later.
Congrats on the purchase. Say what you will about ugliness, grip angle, or whatever, the Glock is a proven platform that rides on the hips of hundreds of thousands of citizens, cops and soldiers around the world. It might not be "perfection," but it certainly gives it a go.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.
Congrats on your Glock 17! May not be the most stylish kid on the block, but dang it works. :)
Check us out! We have a large selection of new guns and shooting accessories for sale!
Grats on the new Glock. I picked one up in April used for a little over 4 bills out the door. It looked like it had never been fired. Ran the serial and saw it was produced little over 6 months when I got it. Whoever owned it prior didnt like it. Their loss, my gain. I got it for a class pistol, I have over 3k rounds thru it already, never a jam, goes bang everytime.
Its hard to not like a G17.

I reserve the right to make fun, point and laugh etc.
my first glock was the g17. great gun and the first of many glocks for me.

on your new pistola...
I used to hate Glocks...they always resembled 'bricks' to me! Then I grabbed a G-36...errrrr...it grabbed me. Love it! I know that there is a G-26 in my future...
