Does anybody like 2 tone guns?

We all have weaknesses, and one of mine is two tone semiauto guns, especially those with a black frame and a silver colored slide. I just counted and I have 6 semiautos that meet this description, 2 Glocks, 2 H&Ks, 1 Colt and 1 Kimber. The other day in a gun store I was fondling a Sig P220 with stainless slide and black frame.

Does anybody else like two tone guns, or do you think they are just tacky?

Shown below is my Kimber Pro CDP, a two tone, and my dream car, a 1955 Chevy two tone in coral and gray (which probably reveals my age).

It depends on the gun, and what the intended use is. For the most part, I like two tone.

No sir. Just don't like 'em.

Look like spare parts guns to me.

I sometimes like the look of contrasting controls, but different color slide and frame? You can have 'em.

Photo from the Henry Ford museum? I was there a couple of weeks ago. Fascinating place.

I like the two tones too. Springfield has a 1911 that I like. The Wilson Combat's are really slick, but that's a big chunk of change.

I never thought about it until I bought a pre-melonite XD 9mm subbie. I did not realize until I got it home that the finish was so bad. I packed the slide up and sent it to Tripp for hard chrome and love it now.

As long as one of the colors isn't purple, pink or neon green, I'm good with two tone.

    They grow on you

I guess it takes time. 3 years ago, I wouldn't have had one. First came a Bersa Thunder two tone, then came the PT111 in two tone. One reason was that I knew the slide would sometimes be in contact with my skin when I was carrying IWB, and stainless is much easier to maintain under those circumstances than blued steel is.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

I really like they way two-toned guns look.......I only own one that comes close to your discreption though....an older P85 with a stainless frame and a brushed slide. I didn't purchase it on the looks of it either.....all of my guns were bought for function and use.....no 'pretty' safe-queens in my possession. I have no plans to purchase any firearms for thier 'looks' in the future either.

Not that I won't change my mind about that either.

That's a REALLY great car too!!!
