    Taurus 651 in .357

I have considered purchasing a revolver for pocket carry for sometime and I believe the Taurus 651 in .357 fits the bill nicely. I have not handled one of these yet but have researched these, Charter Arms, and S&W on the web and in several forums.

The S&Ws are too pricey for me and i like the "look" of the Taurus line. Anyone have some good comments for a cherry wheel gunner?

I like mine, nice smooth trigger pull, good cylinder lock up, like the option of SA if I want to shoot it that way. It conceals nicely (I carry mine IWB but have thrown it in a jacket pocket on occasion and pants pockets once or twice), the weight helps with the recoil when shooting .357's but isn't so heavy as to feel like an anchor.

I did change out the stock grips (not that there is anything wrong with them) for slim Uncle Mikes grips I got on e-bay.
(and if your a fan of laser grips, Crimson Trace makes a set for it)

If you are new to revolvers it may take a little getting used to, but over all a really nice snubbie

I have mine on the table next to my PC right now.

Solid as a rock and very manageable with 158gr magnums.

Just picked up one a week ago. First wheel gun for me. Very nice good quality piece for the money. Handled 38 and 357 personal defense easily with little/minimum felt recoil. Tonight added a Fobus 85 paddle holster. Overall Im very happy!

I have a blued 650, which I think is the same but with an open hammer. I switched to Hogue grips to get the pinky involved.

I have put about 200 rounds through it and it has been flawless. Great value for the money.

Thanks for the help all, now a question about grip size: is the standard grip so small in length that your pinkey hangs off and if so what are some after market grips that alleviate this?

I bought a hogue grip for my Model 617 Taurus but wound up putting the factory grips back on in the interest of less bulk-easier concealment. But for shooting at the range, the Hogues are nice.

I have the 605. I put the Taurus Combat Grip on it ,and it is fine with 357 ammo.
