    New gun...any problems?

I just got a Para Ordnance LTC 1911 and was wondering if anybody on here has had any problems with one of these. I searched but didn't come up with anything substantial. Stainless Steel Model but no pics yet sorry.....appreciate any input.

Well you got the stainless, so that should solve any finish issues, I'd say you've done good.

I've had a bunch of Paras and never had any problems with any of them, I wish I had kept them all.

The only other thing that I don't care for on the Paras other than the Parakote finish, are the cocking serrations, I find them to be spaced too far apart, and if you get sweaty hands they can be a pain in the rear.

I love it so far.....only fired about 50 rounds through it for now. Is it normal for me to have problems
getting the slide to release on a hollow point.?
It seems as if the hole in the bullet nose is getting stuck under the feed ramp. No big deal for now as I figure it will loosen up a bit and start feeding more regularly. It sure is the prettiest gun I have ever
    owned though!!!

She's a beauty all right, I've been "cursed" with trying to decide which Commander sized gun I'm going to buy next, the LTC is on my list amongst others.

Nope they are the same size, also, I resized the pic to make it fit the screen better without having to scroll on window.

Also, using the slide stop at first to release the slide may be a little problematic, use the hand over top of the slide to return the slide to battery until you get some more rounds down range.

I appreciate that....blurr out the serial with photoshop on the other computer and forgot to resize it too.

Nice gun. Shoot a bunch and it should be ok. Make sure you do a good detail cleaning on it and the mags, and than lube it.

Do you have any recommendation on what type of high quality gun lube to use for this break in? I only have the cheap stuff that comes with the gun cleaning kits.

I usually stick with Hoppes or Otis Ultra Lube

I was going to buy a lightly used one, but while doing a basic function check, the thumb safety broke.
