    Talking Taurus 1911 w/ rail

Just picked up a Taurus PT-1911 w/ rail on Friday . I installed a S&A arched magwell and ERGO grip panels . I would like any feedback on the gun if anybody has a Taurus w/rail or w/out . For th money I couldn't pass it up !! I've owned Kimber & Springfield but this Taurus seems like a good shooter but I guess I'll find out next week !!

I'm confused. Why are you asking our opinion when you've already ponied up the money for the pistol ? I haven't found an FFL dealer yet that will take it back if it doesn't suit your needs or is a lemon out of the box. Guess how much they'll give you for it if you want to trade it in ? About $275.

As for the pistol I don't own one but by all accounts thus far it's getting thumbs up reviews from it's owners. Personally if it where me, I'd have waited or looked for a Para Ord Limited Edition for about the same price. That's just me.

The only gun I own that I do not trust to carry is my Taurus. It's the 24/7 Pro .45 ACP. She ran fine for the first 500 rounds now she likes to spit up and choke once or twice every mag, regardless of the ammunition that I shove in her.

By all accounts thus far your pistol is a bargain price with high price features and dependability. Good Luck.

I got the PT1911 last Christmas (2006) I will not start the arguement that it is as good as x,y, or z, but it feeds any and all, you pull it , point it, goes bang and hits where you aim. I wish they had a commander sized one and I would be through with the weapon purchases for awhile.

I owned one for about a month (someone decided they wanted it more then me and broke into my house). In that month I put over 2000 rounds through it. I had no failures, and it fed everything. I was also able to get it to consistantly put 2 rounds in the same hole at 25 yards. The only thing I didn't like about it was the trigger was very light from the factory for carry (about 3 pounds).

I'm waiting on the railed stainless model to come out.
