Yeah I knew that was a hell of a deal. I've seen these at gun shows for $400 or more in worse condition.
The last time I saw a Cobra for sale they wanted $500 for that thing! I was like "No way!"
I bet it shoots great with 158 grain loads. I can see now why so many people say Colt made the best snubnose revolvers. I can't figure out how they fit 6 rounds in this thing, and the overall balance and feel is superior. The sights are amazing. I've always found fixed sights a little awkward to use but not these.

I got in touch with a freind who's a member of the CCA about the late model Agents & Commandos and when they were made, here's his reply;
Hope this is some use to you.Dan,
The Agents were made in that configuration from 1982 to 1986. The Commando Special from '84 to '86. I don't have serial number ranges.
There's little collector interest in them. Not much, but I hope this helps some. Let me know if I can do anything else.

Cool!
I don't care if it's a collector's item or not. It's still a well made revolver and possibly from The Twilight Zone!![]()
He said that because he's a collector, he didn't mean anything by it, just stating a fact. Doc has written a number of books on Colt's.
Do a web search for Doc O'Meara.

Nah I know what you mean!
Collector's criteria is completely different from a user's criteria!
There you go.![]()

Euc? I found a Colt Detective Special 38 Spl 6 shot 2inch in Coltguard Finish (I think it's Electroless Nickele) for $225.00 .......I placed it on hold last monday, til I can get my butt up over the state line......I think we were on the same thought pattern at around the same time LOL......![]()
Not too shabby Class3!
I'm shocked Colt doesn't retool these little guns of theirs to be +P rated and start making them again. They'd sell quite a few of them.
Euc,
They did offer the "D" frame rated for +P in the DS-II, they also offered it in .357, the Colt Magnum Carry.
Class3
Another great find at a good price!
I found this 1960 Dick Special a few months back, cheap...
